Laboratory for Neuroeconomics is a research group at the SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities. We study psychological and biological factors underlying decision making.

Our main interest is the impact of cognitive limitations on decision making. Cognitive limitations can be imposed by emotions and stress, so we study how these factors impact decisions. Another line of research focuses on individual differences in decision making, especially the differences that have a strong biological basis.

We combine computerized behavioral and cognitive testing with neurophysiological methods and formal modeling of decision making. More specifically, we collect data on EEG, electrodermal activity and hormone levels and combine these with behavioral data and model parameters estimated with hierarchical Bayesian modeling.

We are funded by grants from the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the National Science Centre as well as intramural grants of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
